British Colonial Architecture

Hello , so today I am sharing some of my favorite pictures of beautiful homes from British colonial era in Singapore.

These white Tudor style homes are absolutely breathtaking with distinctive white washed exterior and black trim . Apart from being aesthetically interesting, they are admired for their exotic mix of Victorian Tudor architecture and Eastern influences cleverly adopted to accommodate tropical climate like: large verandas and tall shutters to keep the sun out.

Homes are built mostly in Singapore during Victorian era and are still quite favored and sought after. Unfortunately some of them are torn down to make space for new development.

Most of these homes are nestled on a large  slice of land offering experience of colonial living.
